Two years ago, I exhibited here a work called Heart of Lightness⋯>>點閱:明亮之心 Heart of Lightness (Florence Biennale 2023--I AM You), a girl who searched for her identity in the midst of confusion and loneliness.
She discovered a sense of belonging, a connection with herself, the light and community. In that moment, she began to bravely follow the light, stepping into the future that belonged to her. It is a journey of connection with oneself , with the Creator (The Light), and others.
This year, I return with a new theme —Dualism & Unity. A continuation of the search for identity and connection—and a journey toward transcendence. For me, dualism is where life transformation takes place, when light breaks through and unites what was once divided. Because I know —the Creator is Light. He lives in me, and I in Him. In that light, darkness and shadows can no longer survive. Struggles and division lose their power. Unity prevails.
Unity is to strive to tune in to the light's heartbeat and to draw into harmony, celebrating diversity(the collective identities).
If you recall what I shared two years ago—
When our hearts shine for ourselves and for one another, it is when light breaks in, and we become a constellation—each star is unique, yet shining together. That is also when unity prevails.
For me, true unity is not sameness, but the beauty of diversity in harmony.
Like this exhibition: one voice alone is soft,
but many voices—many colors—sing together and light up the world. Together, we make life richer, fuller, and more radiant to see and to live.
There is a saying I truly love:“Light itself casts no shadow.” Only when something blocks the light does a shadow appear. And in the light, no other light can block the true source. So when we live fully in the light, shadows naturally disappear. This belief —this truth —is at the heart of this series. They awaken you and bring you peace, love, and revival. The true unity is not the disappearance of contradicitons / struggles, but their embrace by love and light- and in that light, a new rhythm and order are born anew, where an awakening within transformation, unfolding gently.
My art is more than just painting. Through piano, poetry, spoken verse, and dance, I seek to express the full story behind each painting —the story of the dancing girl. And in this exhibition, you will also hear my voice. Melodies I wrote and sang, echoing through each piece, resonating with the brushstrokes, walking hand in hand with the light. At times, I even dance while I create. Letting my body move with the emotions of my soul. Just like the girl on the canvas.
She is not one specific person. She is you, she is me, she is everyone who searches for hope and connection with light in the darkness, and follows faith through contradiction. Every brushstroke, every color, records her movement from shadow to light. Her steps are surrendered, authentic, and free. Her dance —like a poem offered to the Light.
I warmly invite you to step into these paintings. Not just to observe, but to enter into a dialogue with your own story. May you feel here a peace, a stillness, hope and a joy that come from the Light.
And may you, in your own dance of life, bravely step into your rhythm, your story. And remember the table of celebrating the feast can be found in the shadow of valley of death. Again, it is the place of life transformation, where you can find unity in harmony.
May the Light from the paintings awaken you,
and shine forth from within you.

“Messenger of Light”
In the silence of forms and colors that defy reason, Jenny Liaoje's works speak directly to the soul.
Each of her paintings is a prayer that takes shape, a spiritual vibration that flows through the canvas like an invisible yet living presence.
Jenny paints not the visible world, but the inner one.
Her hands, guided by faith, create bridges between heaven and earth, between the human and the divine.
There is a light in her works that belongs not only to color, but to the truth of those who believe, deeply, in God.
Her art is revelation: it reminds us that mystery should not be explained, but listened to.
And that even in the abstract, God's love can find a home.
Thank you, Jenny, for showing us that beauty can be a form of prayer,
and that art—when born of faith—can become a luminous testimony to the eternal.

Jenny Liaoje
Jenny
Jenny,
Heart of Lightness
(Wen-Chun, Jenny Liao)
